Peikko delivers 6.5 km of DELTABEAM® to an office construction in Denmark

Peikko Group’s Danish subsidiary Peikko Denmark Aps has received a substantial order for a new office construction in Copenhagen, Denmark. The order comprises 6.5 kilometers of DELTABEAM® Composite Beams. The deliveries are scheduled to start in the end of August 2016 and continue until April 2017.

The project OPP – Kalvebod Brygge will be a visual landmark comprising 41,000 m2 office space and a two-storey parking garage sized 20,000 m2. It is formed by four buildings connected to each other by glass bridges. The construction will provide working environment for four public agencies. The developer of the complex is the Danish Property Agency. The architectural design has been made by Arkitema Architects A/S and the structural design by MOE A/S. A. Enggard A/S is the contractor of the construction which will be finalized in 2018.

“The low beam height enabling a slim-floor structure was in an important role in this project keeping the underground parking garage levels as shallow as possible. In the office areas the long spans made with DELTABEAM® offered open space for flexible layout possibilities to fit the needs of the end users” states Topi Paananen, CEO of the Peikko Group Corporation.

DELTABEAM® is Peikko’s composite slim-floor system for multi-storey buildings of any kind. It allows flexibility for layout changes throughout the service life of the building, and enables easy HVAC installations. With the use of DELTABEAM® the depth of the whole structure can be reduced, which means savings in construction time and costs as well as in heating and cooling costs. DELTABEAM® enables different kinds of cantilevers and architecturally challenging façade solutions without the use of in-situ casting.
